the focus point isn't there, it's blurry overall and the exposure is not right making the furry little fellow quite dark

He's a cutie! Looks like good focus and I like the diagonal lines. I am sure you didn't have too much control over this, but the squirrel is a bit dark and the foreground and background are a bit busy. Maybe a shallow DOF would work to blur out the detracting items.

The backlighting and fuzzy appearance spoil this image. The framing could have been better including the footof the squirrel and maybe cropping some of the detracting background.

A little over-exposed in my opinion. The cluttered background kind of distracts from the subject.
