before>> the opposite of intended??! looks like you're on the merry-go-round effectively capturing the stationary horse while the world moves about you..... clever.....

after>> I understand that this was in fast a true "motion pan" -- just goes to show how well executed this was! and in somewhat dim light too!

Excellent work and different too. However I would guess you were standstill on the merry go round not panning. Nice shot anyway though.

excellent image, but i bet it's getting comments all over the map related to panning vs tracking. it really does appear that you were right there beside the horse, as opposed to being on the ground, shooting it as it went by...

I guess it's panning...holding still while the world you're on moves through space... anyway, I like the image.

Nice clean capture on the horse. I am not digging the yellow cast to it but just a personal preference. 7

you can just sit in the horse next to it and get this shot. Good shot though. 5 bump 6

Nice image, good focus but looks more like the background is moving rather than the camera. Moving the camera, of course, is what motion panning is. Unfortunately, a still camera and moving background may be assumed by some voters.

You were on the platform that was moving! You didn't have to pan to get the motion out of the background! DNMC! Sorry.

OK, OK, so you weren't on the platform! However you got the subject so clear I hope you describe later. I couldn't do it, myself.

Very clever very simple idea. Deserves to do well. Perhaps a tiny bit yellow, but possibly unavoidable. Good work.

Cool! I bet you 'cheated' by being ON the merry-go-round while shooting... So this is more motion blur than motion panning :P
Nonetheless, you've captured the spirit of the ride! 6

I suspect that this wasn't panning, but rather riding around next to the horse. Nice colors, though.

This was my favorite, I'm new to the DPC challenge and this is what I think is a great example of panning.
