looks like some cheap filter in stead of real panning..

Would have been nicer to see more of the bike

This is artificial motion (of course you already know that hahah) and it could've worked but it's not technically correct. Depending on what part of the subject someone is looking at the motion blur is going in a totally different direction than it should be. Less is more.

I may be doing you a dis-service by only giving you a 7 for this photo, because it is a good one of the cyclist, but to my untrained and novices eyes, it looks like the cyclist has been cut from another photo and stuck onto a different background. I am not suggesting that is what you have done, it's just how it appears to me and I will probably be eating my words at the end of the challenge!!

Wow...if somehow this was done with basic editing...you will win. I'll assume it is going by the rules.

If the whole bike was in the shot I would give it a 10.

Hoping this is a legit shot....I'll give it a 9.

fantastic shot, excellent colours, great panning and love the crop .. =10

Nicely dynamic photo. The cyclists intense gaze into the future adds to the drama and colour smears... 9.

Halo around right leg...

I dont like the "effects". It isnt really motion panning.
01/17/2007 10:49:30 PM
hmm how did you motion pan with your camera to get the blur effects to be on both sides/directions of the biker?
01/17/2007 05:16:36 PM
Nice radial blur here! AWESOME color too!

Nice pan, but a strange crop.

strong image - but looks photoshopped. Apologies it that's not the case.

Overprocessed to show motion panning but I like the effect. :)

nice effect

Haven't heard much about Marty for a while (here in Oz at least). Didn't realise he was still going around. This is an interesting shot, but not all of the blur seems to have been created by MP.
