I agree with you... It was really soft and I couldn't come up with a great way to improve the sharpness so i just went with the 'soft' look. ;) It was before sunrise so the light was naturally soft, but... |

Good, but too soft! It looks as if you ran it over with a steamroller, flattening all the detail and reality of the photo
But that could always be the 'wonderful' 18-55 at work ;)

| Stunning view, and your shot is nicely done. I really love the composition you chose. Seems most people choose a fairly close-up "portrait" orientation for lighthouses, but I like this far more. Really gives a feel for the mood of the place. |

This is lovely. Next time try the "skew" tool in PS to straighten up the vertical of the lighthouse without affecting the angle of the horizon.
I've come back for re-evaluations, and this one is near the top of my pile. Good luck! |
