i think its just hilarious that you catagorized this shot as "action" and used it in still life.. I stand by my pity for the hideous cat just the same. :)

The concept of still life is photographing an inanimant object. This animal is neither inanimate nor an object. Despite that, even if I did not take that into consideration when voting, the picture is very out of focus, the background does nothing to enhance the focal point. Lighting is only ok but you have a dark background behind his head that should be softened or eliminated. This is little more than a snapshot and not a very good one at that.

Sorry about the comment yesterday, bad day. That being said, what does a cat have to do with still life? I think the essence of yesterdays comment was correct I just went about it very rudely. This was one of the images that was most frustrating to me. Every week I see this, people totally ignoring the topic and posting pictures of their pets and kids. Please stay on topic, if you have nothing to post on topic, then you have nothing to post, it's not the end of the world.

You captured a good moment but the focus is very poor. That does not work well. This image also has a down-side quality that occurs frequent with automatic cameras... the background is in better focus than the main subject. Unfortunately that is almost impossible to see until you load it on your computer. It is good to take more than one shot of a subject to get a good one.

When you decided that this subject would be your choice for the “Still Life” challenge, how many different photos did you make to try to find the best perspective? How many different lighting options did you try to see how light changes could change the mood of the photo? I believe that some considerations of these elements could have helped you create a higher impact photo.

On top of this pic being blurry it's no where near still life.

Does not meet the challenge. A still life is a picture of an object or group of objects arranged to communicate ideas of color, form, tone, texture and composition. Still lifes are inanimate.

A persian kitten! You get a point for that alone because I love persians! :) But sadly that is all that qualifies for this challenge, the subject is alive and moving as seen by the blurriness in the shot and the tongue action. The cropping is wanting, the one ear getting cut off really hurts the shot and the black wavy line on the right is very distracting. A 3
