I hope most people know about this ritual. It's a chicken wish bone. Two people: each wrap their pinkie fingure around one end of the wish bone. They make a wish and pull on the bone. The one with the longest piece will have their wish granted.

Why a wish bone? Because it was there. lol.

Good control of your light source. The setup makes for a nice clean image. Good stuff.

A seemingly simple shot, captured perfectly. The reflections in the plate work well. The range of tones and exposure are perfect. The lighting is just right. The only thing I would criticise is the amount of negative space, which doesn't quite work for me. 9

This is so cool. Very elegant, a nice effect: the saucer _looks_ like it's in color while the wishbone looks to be in b&w (which it is, of course). There's a flaw in the dish on the left side though; either a reflection of the wishbone or some sort of design on the plate maybe? If you'd gotten that out of there, this picture would be perfect.

I love the simplicity of this! And what an unusual item to see on a plate too. It's so off the wall and different I think it stands out the most. Who would have thought a chicken bone on a plate would look so 'pretty'. Great photo!

The black background really helps the white plate stand out. Lighting is good. Great hightlights bouncing off the plate. Contrast is really good. "10"

nice lighting and shot....lose the plate or perhaps a plain plate....the little pattern on the left is distracting....and if yu were to lose the plate, also lose the frame. 7

Pretty... I like the fact that this photo is almost compleely absent of corners. I would have maybe tried the cropping to be more rectagular... with more neg space on the left to right reather than the top/bottom... might give more weight to the ovalness? 8

What a nuance in textures! Cold and impressive - the "crossroad of the wishes"...

Beautiful simple picture! I love the strong black and white colors! And a great idea to see a beauty in a simple little wishbone on a plate, Outstanding!

love this one, really a humoreous contrary to the baroque original still lifes; the only thing is that with such a simple set-up, reflections in the plate matter a lot.

from Wishbone, by Clutch:
(Fallon, Gaster, Maines, Sult)
For Thanksgiving we had 'tatas, succotash, and rudebagas.
Then came turkey from the oven.
Broke the wishbone. Covenants were sealed and set.
On the losing end of a wishbone and I won't pretend not to mind.
Christmas Eve we ate at Aunty's. We had some ham glazed with honey.
Rolled the Yule log on the fire. Threw the hambone to the dogs and went to
bed.
On the losing end of a wishbone and I won't pretend not to mind.

Simple and very effective indeed. I love the absolute contrast between the plate and the background.
