 I was trying to capture the subjects relationship in this photo. This is a good friend of mine and his niece. I used a little fill flash because the room was very dim. I converted to b&w in Photoshop using channel mixer. Separated into layers to apply usm and Gaussian blur to eyes and faces. Resized for web and submitted

i have several nieces that i totally love most of them grown now, but somehow i find the title vaguely disturbing in an "afterschool special" kind of way.....beautiful baby though and nice lighting
