Shot at my first wedding as a photographer. I like the questionning and the vulnerability a lot in that photo. The last moment in life before becoming a wife.

PP involved converting the RAW file in ACR

photoshop steps are the following:

1. Duplicate base layer
2. Set the new layer blending mode to overlay
3. Apply a 250px gaussian blur to new layer
4. Create a brightness/contrast adjustment layer with 0 brightness and -20 contrast
5. Duplicate the base layer again and bring it on top of the brightness/contrast adjustment layer
6. Apply a high pass 2px radius on the new layer and set the blending mode to hard light
7. Create a new level adjustment layer on top of that with these settings: Red channel input, 30, 1.28, 225 blue and green channel untouched.
8. Create a channel mixer adjustment layer in greyscale with these settings: red 100%, blue 0% and green 0%
9. Flatten image, downsize to 630px X 420px
10. Convert the base layer to layer 0
11. Create an inside border 1px white
12. Increase canvas size to 640px X 430px
13. Create a new empty layer
14. Bring down the new layer under the layer 0
15. Transform the new layer as a color layer pure black
16. USM on layer 0: 200%, 0.5px, 3
17. Flatten
18. Convert to sRGB
19. Save for web and here we go

Not the type of glamourous shot with ultraclean background and ultra sharp details that usually score well here on DPC but hey, I'm proud of it and that's what matters, isn't it? ;-D

Tamron 28-75... Seriously... what a lens!

really great picture and model pose. My only complaint is that the bottom left hand corner of the picture is so bright and draws attention away from the pretty model.

Is it ME or does it look like she is regretting it already? Nice light though. 7

The very bright white at the bottom half is very strong competition for attention with her look. I keep switching between top and bottom half. vote=5

She looks so serious..... Perhaps you're having the same problem I have. I have a hard time getting a serious / contemplating look to "look good". But I keep trying. I tend to find that gazing downward across the shoulder works well. Or on a pose like this one, looking slightly upward helps.
