 Self reference and surrealism.
Made a "cliche" still photo, worked out heavily in PS ,graying some fruits,painting filters (satisfying my need to spot edit hehe),printed out and placed in a old fashioned frame, setup the "escaped" fruits and shot.
Both shots with Canon 50mm F1.4@f22

I am not certain that I like the background but I do think the concept and composition are very creative and fit the challenge beautifully. I understand that the white background may be intentional on your part to suit the irony of your subject (love the painting too) but it would prevent me from *hanging" this. That is just personal opinion. Your photo deserves a high score for creativity and suitability to subject if nothing else.

rather clever, wish the BG was the same color as in the picture but then there would be no escape, would there.....well there isn't any escape and it is something you are just going to have to deal with (insert devilish laugh with reverb).

lol - good one! i wish the colors weren't quite so dull. a blue piece of fruit like in the picture would have enhanced the gag, but still, that's funny. thanks for that.

I like the idea but almost wish there was more fallen items in the foreground. Just my opinion. I like the composition, but would have liked to have seen more dramatic light. Again just my personal taste.

Very creative. In general, "still lifes" are a bit sterile for me. Not this one though... 7
