 Thanks to my beautiful wife HANAE for modeling at short notice.

I submitted this shot because I like it, no other reason, I hope you can enjoy looking at it too. This was shot using my very old Nikkor-T lens, it seemed appropriate to shoot B&W with an old lens.

Hanae has extremely long hair and because she was not wearing her make up she covered her face with her hair for a joke, so I said "leave it like that, it looks like the Ring". I edited about 3 different versions and had another 2 portraits on standby for this challenge, I hope it does well, My sons just signed up to DPC and my wife is a member so we have a little family bet going on as to WHO finishes higher.

This was the shot I decided to enter (obviously) & I am quietly confident it will beat the family.

Lit with a single Interfit EX150 using a softbox.

Nice and creepy image. Excellent editing. The eye might be a bit soft but that is only a very fine nitpick - didnt affect my vote any. 8

Back to comment: A creative idea for a portrait but the eye could have been a little sharper. The interesting thing about your composition is that with the eye looking up, the image conveys the “why do I have to pose” attitude. If the eye would have been straight forward, it would have conveyed anger or stubbornness. This is really effective compositionally and I’m going to give you a bump.
