 The forecast called for 1.5 inches of rain, so I figured Fences would be hopeless. When fog started to roll in though, I took a chance and drove around the area. I had taken photos of this farm earlier in the day when it wasn't as foggy, but I drove past it again and there were two large deer in a fenced field off to the right. Ooh... now's my chance! I parked the car and quickly switched to a long lens so I could zoom in on the deer, then jumped out of the car just as a jogger spooked the deer. Drat! My consolation prize was this pretty scene on the opposite side of the road. I probably wouldn't have captured the same shot if I hadn't switched to the longer, image-stabilized lens. ;-)

Processing: Convert from RAW, levels, channel mixer conversion to B&W, HSL for tone, duplicate layer in multiply mode to increase contrast (opacity was only about 10%), clone stray twigs in upper right tree, USM, dodge & burn.

This cracked me up... I spent all week in Kentucky and thought I might get some good shots of a horse farm on the way home. My hopes were dashed when we left before dawn, so this shot was taken the next day in Connecticut. ;-)

I love the mood this image evokes. I look at this and the first thing that comes to mind is silence, the kind that happens on foggy days in the country when there is no sound but your footsteps. Thanks for the view, Love it!

crop the bottom of the photo, where the bottom of the blacker part of the fence is, then you have even better image.
