I guess I was too abstract and surreal with this, my first, entry. Thanks to all for their comments.

I just found out about this challenge on January 1, when I joined dpchallenge on the evening before the deadline. I went for a long walk and took many pictures looking for something interesting. As I was collapsing my tripod, I saw the possibility for this one. It is taken with ambient light from sodium discharge streetlights. It is as from the camera but for cropping, resizing, and a bit of a boost on sharpness and contrast. Anything else I did to it with Photoshop made me like it less, so I left it at that.

I like this photo. I has a comic book feel to it. Dark, gloomy... almost gothic.

hi Greetmir ...i really like the abstract quality to this photograph .. and good luck in future challenges ..
ps ... if you leave a reply here it is quite likely that the ppl you are writing it to wont see it ... like once you've seen an image, unless you've made it a favourite you may not revisit it ...

Welp ... I guess I went a little too surreal and abstract with this one.

P.S. The bluish light is the almost full moon. Thanks for the constructive comments. Looking at it again I DO think that it would be better with the bricks OUTTA there.

This is very jumbled. The wirefence in the foreground, the mesh gate behind it and the bricks are all fighting against each other for attention. A ptiy because the two coloured lights would otherwise contrast quite nicely. Maybe even if the bricks were just cropped out?

Cool dynamic between the two lights. I would have liked the fence to be better lit though.

The fence blends in to much with the building.

A bit dark to tell what's going on.

The composition here was very confusing to me, and I wasn't quite sure where the subject was. Very busy, without a clear focus area on which to concentrate. Watch what's behind your subject (assuming that here it's the fence).
