"WOW", did I have some fun with this challenge, as I explored a new area of photoshop re "Gradient Map", which is legal in "Basic".

I love the strong colors that I was able to achieve, and I think it suits this challenge really well, re the wonderful strong patterns the colors gives the image.

Yes, it is another Agave plant, but that is what I love, and I love photography them until I have explored all the avenues I can. They are so archectural, with strong lines, and a great composition.

I hope you like this one.....

the saturation is too high for my taste

Wow! I really like the colour shifting but the saturation seems just a tiny touch too harsh though at the same time it's kind of interesting. Love the single very sharp point included at the centre.

amazing: I wonder what is it. Anyway I think it is a not so clear pattern.

It is a nice shot, but feels too 'painted' for me.

overprocessed and oversaturated. lacks of detail
12/28/2006 03:18:18 AM
Certainly a fiery pattern, looks good, and retains a softness even with the colors.

Nicely composed & great subject, but I don't think you did the image any favors by boosting the colors like you did - those blues are downright annoying (but maybe this was a UV shot...)

If this was an IR/UV, then I think it would have been better served by bringing some of the bottom end back in & creating some dynamic range in luminance while possibly dialing back the sat just a skosh.
