whith my new lens .. Nikon 50 mm (1.4)

I used ps cs2 to mono colour it and increse the sharpness and contrast ( RAW file )and then cropped

I doooo like shallow DOF! Composition seems too centred to me (yet not quite central either) and there's a slight tilt that has me tilting my head as I look at it. For such a strongly geometric composition these details matter more.

Way cool. I think the monochrome is great and complements the simplicity of the composition. The way that the extreme selective focus combines with the lines of distant batteries leads the eye strongly to the front battery. This image has a great visual impact.

Hmm i like this! Different take on the whole "lineing up batteries with Dof" i like the batteries on either side of the one in focus, makes it more original. 7

With a shot like this, the "technicals" must be perfect for people to be truly impressed. It's a nice shot, but tilted slightly to the left, and the flaw hurts things overall. Nevertheless, as I said, it's a nice shot, and well set-up, so you get a "7."
