I was also at that launch. I lived in Tampa at the time. We caught the evening news and saw the launch was that night and decided to pile into the car and drive the couple of hours over there since we'd never seen a night launch. I expected it to be neat, but it was really more like a religious experience. It positively left me speechless (and that ain't an easy thing to do :) It was a little like watching a sunrise and sunset compressed into about 60 seconds. Positively amazing.
I had a digital camera that I am almost positive was made by Apple and one of their early laptops and gathered a crowd at Denny's on the way home (in Orlando if I recall) while looking at my fuzzy little photos. Nothing like the gorgeous capture you got. If you decide to put it up for prints let me know, I'd love to have a copy! |
