a 2" cube of wood cut into the letters to cast the shadows. Got the idea from the cover of Godel, Escher, Bach, a wonderful book.

Great idea, and as far as the shadows go, carried out great. Unfortunately, the photography's sort of mediocre. A couple of small things would have helped - rotating slightly so the vertical line is straigt (even better, figure out a way to hide or eliminate the lines), clean up the background (some sort of hairs there). Other things, like the focus, may be limits of the lighting and/or your camera, making the block a little more "presentable" (maybe paint it). But I'm definitely giving you extra points for a clever idea, and for pulling it off as far as the shadows go.

This is definitely the most original out of them all! Excellent and creative idea. I am wondering if brighter light would have created stronger shadows, but then that could blow out the block. Some hair or noise on the grey area. Might be cool to retry this one with "seamless" edges on the box in all white.

very clever execution (all of it!) there are some loose hairs or something that catch my eye on sides and bottom but a creative and interesting entry 8

Clever! You must be a puzzler...great effect. Some dirt streaks on background detract a little.

Excellent. Was tricky to catch the shadows right I think...

How you thought of this, I'll never know. Very clever. But, photo lacks clarity and definition. Compositiojn is very good though. 7

makes no sence outside of here, but it's still really cool.

that is brilliant. please tell me you came up with that for this challenge. maybe not the most technically perfect photo I've ever seen here, but far ans away the most creative. congratulations on a high score from everyone who gets it. :)

Nice composition. Maybe rotate a few dgrees counter-clockwise? Good use of lighting. Looks a little noisy. Clever. Well done.

very clever idea, wish I couldn't see the dark lines where the background surfaces meet and the hint of support strings, composition is good

A very imaginative idea - works very well with the subject. Must have been very difficult to light. While the shadows are very interesting the carved wood is not so captivating. Bravo for innovation, hard effort and intriguing results.

That is trully clever. I like the way you did that, excellent use of shadow. One suggestion I have would be that lines between the walls were somewhat lessened or illiminated. They take away from the picture somewhat. Though at the same time, its freaky not being able to tell how that DPC thing is where it is....I can't see a string.

Incredibly creative idea! Technically, I'd like a little more contrast (white background, darker shadows), but you definitely get a "wow" factor for your originality! Great job!

Very cool shot. I would have liked to have seen it in mono B&W to accent the shadows and maximize the contrast.

You must be a genius to come up with something like this. How creative. I'm dying to find out who the mind is behind this. Great mind, excellent photo...

Veru nice, an origianal idea. I think the idea and setup were well done but I feel you fell short on the lighting and execution of the shot. Still a nice vote.

You get extra points for the amount of time it must have taken to make and set up the shot. Outstanding job. Technically, it needs some work.

Not sure what drugs you were on to manage to think up this amazing idea, but can I have some? Absolutely fantastic piece of thinking, and nicely taken as a photo. I am quite in awe :)
