Palm tree. Shot in Irvine, California across from the Irvine Spectrum.

It was difficult to decide if I should submit this to the "Postcard II" challenge or the "Perspective IV" challenge. LOL!

Post processing steps:

Adobe Camera RAW
----------------
o Changed light temperature to 5,500 degrees
o Turned down the exposure to -1.45
o Tweaked the shadows to 24
o Brightness bumped up to 138
o Contrast set to +37
o Saturation to +6
o Calibrated Green Hue (+18) and Saturation (+100), Blue Saturation (+29)

Photoshop
---------
o Spot Healing Brush to remove sensor dust spot
o Selected the small blown out areas
o Created new layer via cut
- Filled in these cut items (on the new layer) with matching sky color
- Change layer mode to Pin Light
o Flattened layers
o Resized to legal DPC size (minus room for upcoming border)
o USM (31/1.0/0)
o Add new layer for text
- Entered text
- Tweaked text layer style (applied Outer Glow, Satin)
- Set opacity to 67%
o Flatten layers
o Save for web

This would have been great if the sun hadn't been too bright on the top. I love the perspective. Maybe you could do it again some time at a different time of day.

Great idea. The softening of the opacity at top is a good idea, but perhaps you might want to look at preserving your border's opacity. Nice work. 8

I like the perspective and the shading a lot. Good idea to fade the intensity behind the lettering. (How'd you do that, anyway?)

Great perspective. Only negative is the haze or whitenes at the top is distracting. Did you do that to make the text stand out?

don't like the white gradient with negative text, had preferred white or bright colored text instead
