I was down at the city docks in Fredericksburg at daybreak and this man showed up with his yellow labrador. I had been taking shots of this dock, reflections, etc...quickly disengaged from the tripod, switched to sports mode and was able to catch his dog leaping into the water after the tennis ball. Had 3 runs at it before they moved off to a different spot. I really liked how you can see the dogs reflection as he's suspended over the water.

Of the thousands of shots I've taken with this camera, this is one of my favorites. :D

I hope I don't screw things up by using this shot after my Perspective Challenge entry (used another shot from the same vantage point - but earlier with different lighting conditions).

Aww, what a great image! The tones are lovely, almost metallic, and that dog is the best!

Interesting, my first thoughts for gallery categories were "Candid" and "Photojournalism" ... :-)

Quick thinking (and action) got you this great action shot.

would love to see again with a tighter, maybe more panoramic crop.

neat capture. Is he chasing the ball? Is that what caused the ripple. It would be a 10 if there was no spash from the ball.

wow. lovely use of black and white, great framing. I can only imagine how good this would look as a big print.

Wonderful! What a delightful catch - literally. And I figure this is G2B's, unless someone else is using this dock. Nice shot!

Great action happening here. The poles take a lot of the attention away from the dog.

really like this. A lot of dead space on the left which makes the image seem slightly unbalanced. Still trying to decide if that matters or not.

This would be much nicer IMHO If there was more definition between the different surfaces in here. It all blends together.
