Variation on something I've done before. I like this one as both the comp and attitude of the model are portray similar feelings. Is she waiting for someone whose far away? Is she daydreaming and so is far away in her own world? We may never know...

Except for the fact that the model is me and I was daydreaming...about a nap! I think I'm turning into my mother.

Annnnnyway, post was simple.

adj hue/sat/lightness
fiddled with contrast
burned the edges a touch
sharpened
despeckeled
sharpened again
saved for web.
(I intentionally avoided cropping. I framed it this way in camera and like it, though I imagine some people won't.)

Took this with the timer on my sony. Shoot went something like this:

Frame using a pillow as a "model".
Set 10 second timer,
Run over, lay down on the ground, get comfy as think to myself, "Why am I doing this? I should be having a nap. Ahh, sweet sleep..."

Timer goes off, I hop up, run over and check the framing and do the whole thing over. All that work and I STILL chopped my elbow off.

Eh, well.

okay, last minute switch up, only fiddled with the color balance and added a little mor dodge and burn to the image i submitted first. this one seems like the more eye-pleasing image to me...which may not bode well. :)

I look at this, and wonder where your mind is waundering off to... all that foreground (looks like sand on a beach) has to be good for daydreaming...I hope you revisit this shot someday on a beach...draw in the sand, really take your time to figure out what you are saying with the shot...this one is so close to being really something...

I really, really like this. It's simple and understated with it's lack of color except for the splash of green. I like the expanse of concrete which would normally give off a cold feeling but in contrast here, the photo is quite warm and inviting. This is even with your closed off positioning far in the back with eyes covered. My only nitpick is the bit of elbow cropped out, not sure if I like that or not. But regardless, I like this. :-)

Yes, perhaps just a tad too far to offer just a little more visual intimacy. I like the body position. Bump.

I think a square crop would've worked better here, the floor is a bit useless. too bad of your arm, I think it wou;d've been better with the whole arm on it, because the pose looks nice.

Great pose. Great lighting. Maybe a bit too much dead space on the bottom? Lovely model.

I really like the composition. By the way, I have a similar tatoo. LOL!

I'd put something in the empty space.
