The baby's face along with the father's would have been more effective in my opinion.

I like the tight framing of this shot, but I might prefer if it appeared that the subjects had a little more connection with the camera and/or viewer. Soft focus gives a mood here, but I think it might be a touch too much for my taste. The lighting is wonderful...very lovely. And exposure looks good too.
