Not taken with this challenge in mind, I actually wasn´t really aware of this challenge at the time it was shot even though I read about it on monday the 23rd of October, I just put it out of my mind and really only noticed it earlier today and thought, "well there are only 80 submissions so far and I know took some shots of Linda with a fan blowing her hair so why not submit one of those shots to this challenge"
As usual, Henny came along and took care of the makeup and helped me stylize this photoshoot, in this particular shot she held the fan just out of the frame. Oh and this is the same Linda that modeled for me in the Free Study XII.
Lit with three lights and one reflector. One with barn doors behind her for hairlight, one big softbox in front of her and one on her left side at low power to give some fill lighting and a reflector from below, also for fill light.
As for processing, up with contrast and down with saruration, selective curves adjustment on the backround, vignetting added, cloned out two-three dust spots and brightened up the eye.

Gorgeous shot. Great work with light. I don't think the vignette was necessary here. I would have preferred to see the blue carry on to the edges of the frame, however, it doesn't lessen the fact that this is a stunning image, well worth a ribbon.
This is a lovely photo, I'm sure it will do very well. For me, the top of the head being cut off is such a flaw. I know it is the "style" for portaits now but I don't like it.
Great eye. I like the lighting too. You might get hits from some purists because it appears to be more of a studio type shot, than outside in a truly "windy" environment.
Though I do not do portraits myself, I have great appreciation when they are done well and this is the case here. I would challenge anyone to dismiss this from being a ribbon contender. I'd say this is one of only a handful of images I've every given a 9 and it deserves it. I hope you enjoy the blue ribbon!
