This was the morning after the University of Idaho Vandals (my college team) played Boise State University. A HUGE rival game. The Kibbie Dome parking lot was disgusting with pizza boxes, thrown hot dogs, hamburger buns, broken glass, and other random stuff like a broken TV.

Yes, college students AND alumni can be crazy. They take beer bongs, wear Vandal costumes (it's like a Viking...I guess) and drink from kegs.

So I took a bunch of photos of the field of garbage in front of the Dome, but it didn't seem very artistic and I wasn't pleased. So I looked around and saw keg cups strewn across the street onto the lawn of another building and on the sides of the streets.

And here you have it. After taking the image I adjusted the levels, color and a bit of saturation in the yellows.

I find the white spot on the pavement balanced out the white on the left side and also the brigh colored cups. I like the yellow strip dividing the photo a lot. I believe the box explains what the cups are more about than distracting. If you wanted a very clean photo they are distracting, but this photo itself is not clean with all the litter sitting around. I really like how it could be read as 'the drunk litter bugs of america' in some funny way. ;)

That's just my opinion. I really enjoy this photo. Thanks!

I have an idea of who this is, I took a similar shot outside a frat house but decided on a different shot. Nice color and contrast.

I can infer that this is likely an American sporting venue, by the style of cups... I think :) Thus I don't need to actually SEE the field to know it's there. Good work finding something a little different :)

This is what's lacking from many of the entries... some sign that a game actually took place. Nice job in that respect. Just wish I could see the "venue" since this could be practically anywhere.

I'd like to see a sporting venue in it as well.

I like this one. It meets the challenge topic well. The only fault is it looks a bit oversaturated, particularly with the empty Keystone case.

I love the composition, and the strong colour theme (yellow, red, blue). Excellent work!

For me, there isn't anything in this shot that says "game" or "sporting venue". The cups in the street could just as easily be outside a frat house. Compositionally, I like the way everything lines up, although I would have been tempted to remove the box and the bit of cup in the upper left, as I find them distracting. Processing on this must have been touch, since the cups are so saturated (over, in some spots) and the rest is so bland.

I like the message in this. It does show an "after the game" feel. This is perhaps on a bit too much of an angle as i kind of want to turn my head to look at the image! 8
