Nice picture but two problems for me. 1. Two subjects. I am torn between the train and the group of people. 2. Sky color looks unreal, maybe photoshopped.

This is a great shot but it almost seems like there is too much smoke.

Your picture has a lot going for it; especially the contrast between the smoke, mountains, and sky. However, the smoke seems to overpower the train a bit.

LOVE the smoke. And the people give a feeling of the size of the smoke spread. 8

Oh my! I think you spelled gauge wrong (how's that for nitpicking?) but this is a striking picture. Nice composition with the steam/smoke echoing the shape of the hill; nice color as well, except the sky doesn't seem to quite match the toning of the rest of the shot (though I'm sure it was that color.)

I like your take on this with the photo getting the train on the move away from you. Yours is the only one like that in this challenge. Hopefully it wasn't a mistake (had to change the battery, etc...). :D It's kind of cool the way the smoke forms a diagonal line across the image. Then the distant tree line and hillside act as a stopper and bring you back to the train (at least for me). Hey! I just noticed at the distant tree line - a line of people? I only discovered this because I was wondering how this would look cropped in a bit and I was about ready to give you kudos for NOT cropping it. Now I see another reason why you didn't. Fun image to look at. Hope it does well for you - good luck.

You've got the background captured well but it's kind of tough to make out much detail in the train with its distance from you and the brush in the way

nice color Hard to see people on right and what they are doing. Smoke is neat.

Interesting picture. I would have loved to have seen more of the train....either the engine or the caboose. I may have also looked for a perspective that did not include the crowd. They tend to draw your eye away from the main subject.

What a wonderful photo, so much to look at, very interesting. I love the landscape, the plumes of smoke/steam and all those people have me intrigued! What are they doing in the middle of the field?

Sorry, but the mistake in spelling of the title detracts from this otherwise cool photo.

That's "gauge"!

You've got a nice, clear scene, but to me, the main interest is the smoke, not the train.

Great smoke! Well lit. Vivid, rich color. Like it a lot. 8
