Kira, pretending she doesn't know I'm there. She is about 14 now but you would never know it to watch her wrestle with Anna or chase a bug or brazenly beg for/steal food from people and dogs.

they always ignore you when you want them and always want you when you don't want them.
or something like that!
Anyway, you've captured that sentiment very well.
Your title is sooo appropriate ! Gotta love the independent nature of the beast. This is a beautiful portrait, the colors work so well with her fur coat.
She is so regal! The composition is lovely with the red, black, and gold. However, I always prefer to limit the amount of inner ear showing because I know on the photos of my cat, I feel it detracts from the EYES!
Lucky Kira. I do recognize the tipped ear....if you see my Cinder, Mama and Whitey photos they too have tipped ears and now reside in my garage/property. They want nothing to do with coming inside, but I am sure they would just love it if I moved outside with them!!heheheh
Beautiful shot of Kira....she looks like the elder of the family!!
Nice pose of a beutiful kitty, I bit shallower DOF would help I believe and wouldnt have so much color difference in the background. I would try an F4 maybe I like the lighting you used to cpture the brillance of the eye
