Challenge: Urban Landscapes (Classic Editing)
Camera: Olympus E-20P
Location: Swindon
Date: Oct 7, 2003
Aperture: 11
ISO: 80
Shutter: 1/50
Galleries: Cityscape, Architecture
Date Uploaded: Oct 7, 2003

Taken in Swindon atop a multistory carpark. I drove to the top expecting to take images over the edge, but all boarded up.

Found this window that had no glass in it - quite scary looking through it!

Used my new UV & Poloriser filters stacked.

This is well done. I especially like all the geometry (for lack of a better word) - the circle, the line and cut of the street, the horizon, the rooftops, etc.

Wonderful idea of shooting through the round window. Only improvment I can see would to have backed out a tad more and gotten the entire round frame. But won't count off for that. Still a great shot any day.

I love this shot. I originally scored it low because I found the circle very distracting but as I've come back to it several times I realize that it's a perfect lead in to the shot itself. Very nice colors, if the circle was perfect, not cut off on the top and bottom this would have been a 9 or 10

Awesome. I love the effect of looking out a 'port hole'. Nice perspective and colors.

I really like the unique view of the town in this photo. It really centers the eye on the subject.. that being the urban landscape. I also like the various colors represented with also help focus the eye on the inside away from the brown of whatever is being looked through. The only thing I found relatively distracting was the white border. I think it pulls away from the photo because it is already bordered.. by the circular construction. Nice job! 7

Like this shot ...although I think it would have been better if the top and bottom of the circle had not been cropped so tighltly...JMO 7

I'll be curious to learn more about this one... namely what the circular "frame" of this one is. I like it a lot -- very nice shot!

Very unique shot! Lovely colour. This could be a postcard. If you make this into a print, sharpen the centre image a bit.

beautiful... just a bit more sharpness would be nice, but I realize it may just be due to the window (I assume there was one

Neat idea, really like the use of this window or whatever it is. The only thing is the colors seem a little flat, perhaps it is my monitor but maybe the levels or sharpness could be adjusted just to give it that extra impact.
