I know this may displease you, and could be upsetting to many people, but I live with this face everyday, and every morning.
I think the world needs to see the the real life, that so many people have, and often hide away in there own private lives.
I am not ashamed of who I am, and what is happening to me.
I decided the sepia was the softer one of the three images I processed, so sharing this with you, and hope it doesn't upset to many people.
If so, I will remove it from my portfolio.

Thank you all for your thoughtful, kind words to me, re this image, and yes, I will keep it in my portfolio.....

I applaude you for your courage. I will have only good thought going your way and even thuogh we are so far apart, I know things will get well if we all think good thoughts. Great shot btw. The sepia thing accentuates the emotion that this photo brings.

We all struggle with life but so few are strong enough to face it head on, good on you for this shot and to remove it to please others would be a crime.

Your beautiful and you should never be ashamed of yourself.

Dare I ask what you need the morning mask for??

All the best and have things improved since you took this steller shot?

Do you still need the mask or will it be a part of your everyday?

MAX!

This is a stunning and beautiful image; just as riveting as the original one you used in the challenge...I think it is something that should not upset anyone, since it is just another day in your life; if anything, it will make many people, who don't have to go through difficulties like this, appreciate their luck at having good health..you have taken the vagaries of life in stride and turned adversity into creativity by presenting the members here with many unforgettable images.

Hiya. I'll add my voice to what looks like 100% support for keeping this here. :)

Don't worry, you're far far FAR from alone. Every morning I take an allergy pill and a nasal spray steroid. For 2 1/2 years I took a pill for my gums twice a day.

So there's nothing wrong with showing how you start your day.

Sometimes we get carried away with manipulating photos and showing the viewer something different than what we actually see or feel. Thank you for sharing this photo, the honesty is obvious!

Thank God we are more than our shells. That our spirits will transcend our bodies one day and we will be set free of all infirmaties. Until then, you bring joy and encouragement to many people in what you have been given, and I admire so much the work you do with your camera inspite of your physical limitations. You go girl!

Shez, this is a wonderful portrait, excellently processed! You have very beautiful, expressive eyes and I love that white patch in your hair! I cannot see any reason this would upset anyone - I'm quite delighted you posted such a meaningful and real portrait of yourself. Thank you for sharing!

shez, it's lovely. powerful, honest, well done image. i think you should reshoot it for the mornings challenge, maybe without your glasses. emotional images don't always get marked down - look at my desolation shot!

and, how could this displease anyone? a) it's a picture of a woman doing what she needs to do live, and b) it's a great shot.

Sherpet, grab that oxygen whenever you need it and document it and show it.

We become real to others (and to ourselves) when we accept what we need to do.

Keep 'em coming.

i did this a day to early for the "Mornings" challenge. I also think to may have been downscored due to it emotional feelings, and also that you know who it is.....

Thank you all so much as it means such a lot to me that you see what i see in this image.

My Mother, whom I loved so dearly, was always telling me "to do everything for myself first, and then if you couldn't, then ask for help".

She also said to me, "to be proud of who I am", and thats what I always try to do.

Another wonderful things she said, is to be "true to yourself".

I sometimes think I was put on this earth, to help educate the people out there, about people similar to me, with a differance, re physically or mentally, and to try and break down the barriers.

I am so proud of who I am, and feel it is my duty to not only help others in similar situations, but to shows a little compassion and love to all.

Please remember, we are all the same on the inside, and we would have a much happier world.

You better leave this in here Sherryl, its a great honest SP. Let it upset people its good for them. Life is not always daisies. BTW your hair looks great in the morning :P. If you had messy hair it would have done much better in the challenge, hehehe.
I didn't even read crystal's post about great honest SP, its very true.

Sherryl! Do NOT remove it. As you said...This is WHO you are. There is absolutely no shame in having treatments to keep yourself alive.
I like this portrait exactly for this reason...It is YOU! Good work!
