That is so sad and I'm giving it 10 for your brave social comment. He looks pitiful and I share the sentiment. I hate the human race sometimes...

Now THAT is a dreamy expression, captured well.

Wonderful shot! Although, it may be a bit more realistic with some bars of grids, but the look of the bear is very talking.

The details in this shot are amazing. I can almost feel the fur. The bear has such a dreamy look in his face. Too bad the background isn't different colour (you had no control over that though). I would have cropped the top of the background off just below the dark line that runs across. Other than that, there is not a thing I would change. Well done.

Vg image of a grizzly. Dream? Well it's not convincing, especially since this shows no sign of captivity. I believe you, but the picture doesn't tell the story.

OK this grizzes expression is great! It is a wonderful capture of a stunning creature. Hope there was a fence or a really big lense, you don't want to get too close to these guys : ).

He looks so sad! What a perfect title for this shot. The background blends in almost too well but otherwise the capture, the cropping is excellent.

This is a very sad pic. but the facial expression perfectly matches your title. Good luck.

I think it would have been better if he were more obviously captive. This bear is relatively expressionless. Nice portrait, though. Good blur of the background.

Animals don't have the mental capacity to dream of freedom (except MAYBE a monkey). If they are treated well and fed that's all that matters to them. :)

If there was some clue within the image that he was in captivity, then I could understand the title. Otherwise this is an ok shot of a bear.

Nice capture of the fur texture. He sure does look like he wants to be free!

Your title says it all. Thanks for giving voice to this creature.

Great capture of emotion from this bear! It conveys a feeling of despair. Good job.

Beautiful photo. I love his wistful expression. Its like he really is dreaming of being free. The colors are rich and warm. Good job.

I think your idea would have been expressed better if we were able to see the bear's caged environment.
10/06/2003 08:28:31 AM
Shame that the picture needs the title to be shoehorned into the challenge as it's a good picture, capturing an effective expression on the bear's face. We don't even see any evidence of the bear's captivity. 5

PRetty bear, but not dream-related enough. (3)

A day dreaming bear...some how seems to work. there seems to be a far off gaze in its eyes that makes that feeling come across...hope its not me for diner:) 7

There is no doubt that you captured the dream in the bear's expression. However, including the cage/barrier would have allowed the picture to speak for itself without the need for the caption.
