Everything is paper. The black is black paper which I later made completely black. The jagged ripped edge aroung the black void is also paper. We taped a fringe of ripped/jagged paper around the models face and then used black paper to fill in the middle. The edge was smoothed in GIMP.

the hole must be on a flat surface directly facing the camera, but it looks like it is on the same plane that the missing face would be one. That's what I like best about this. 7
