Challenge: Unrelatedness (Advanced Editing IV)
Collection: Challenges 2006
Camera: Canon EOS-30D
Lens: Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
Location: Garage
Date: Oct 1, 2006
Aperture: f/9.0
ISO: 400
Shutter: 0.4 sec
Date Uploaded: Oct 1, 2006

Probably not a good idea to submit this, but what the heck. Thrown together very quickly, not at all what I'd intended but ran outta time. Handheld on the floor of my garage. Shot with the 10-22 to sorta distort the sizes of the two unrelated objects. And yes, the horizon is intentionally not level.

From the jpeg (vice RAW) file - converted to B&W, added noise, cropped a bunch of times, sharpened, resized, etc.

Ha! My idea of fun. Even here you get things to reverberate, empty holes though they be.

Well - I gave this one a five. Met the challenge in that you had two unrelated objects but it didnt grab me. The added noise didnt grab my attention in a good way. What can I say - this aint no bird on a wire shot.

I really like this one Deb! But, then it's the type of image I would normally produce. Very quirky! Of course, I wouldn't have gotten anywhere near a 5 if I had done this. Adding to my favs!

I really like this one. I never got around to voting on this challenge, but I really like the grainy look. And the concept is so cute! I think your commenters got closer to what this photo deserved!

well, considering how much dpc hates grain, you did well! I gave you a 6. I thought it was a good composition and a pretty good fulfillment of the challenge, but my highest scores were for people who created purely visual associations, like caba's gourd pitcher handle.

Unique pairing to meet the challenge, like the grain approach to the final image, adds character

Nice idea. The processesing is cool, but probably won't go over very well here. There is something on the floor that doesn't add much to this otherwise nice composition.

I really like the grainy image. I don't think this shot would have been near as good without it.

Good thinking. Considering the old crimephotolike quality to the pic it could also have been: Butler, in the toolshed, with the tireiron

Creative. I also like the grainy technique.
