My 50th challenge... This pic was quite serindipitous. I've never had a dragon fly sit still long enough to take its picture.

BG was a white house in full sun. Processed twice in RAW to lighten BG, then careful masking on top layer to reveal correctly exposed DF.
Curves adj layer
Constrast/Sat adj layer
Flatten and Resize
Duplicate layer and USM on top layer
Layer mask on top layer to hide USM effects on antenna and tail
Flatten
Clone 1 highlite in eye plus a few hot spots on the legs and tail
Stroke 2pix
Add white border
Save as jpg.

NOt the strongest FS entry in what will be a large field, but its a little different than any of my previous entries(my first bug!), pretty strong technically, interesting situation for a common subject, i like it, and ...destined for a 5.8!

Oh, and it was shot with a Canon 70-200 'L' lens that I am 'testing'. I may have caught the bug!

Cool shot. I like the white background. It looks like you might have desaturated some of the insect's leg, though.

Nice composition. A little stark with the white background. I like the way the dragons feet align with the anti-singing thread on the antenna.
