 my plan today was to get a picture with Jack - but he just didn't want to play and I wasn't quite happy with the shots, so instead I decided on this one...so, far from being alone as in the title I was actually with my loving mutt who was looking for treats!

btw-this image isn't as soft as it looks here - must be something in my compression?

Great use of neg space, the angle in which you are looking adds alot to the photo.

I'll echo others comments, but I would call it positive space. More upbeat, ya know? You are amazing with lighting! I love the Jack shots also!

I really like your minimalist black and whites. They're full of rich contrast, and seem to always have something to say. In many of your self portraits, the focus is just a tad soft for me, as here. Now this may be a matter of style, and taste. And this one I like very much. If it were on the tack side of sharp, especially around your face, I would REALLY love this, and others. But other than that, I very much enjoy this, and the creative variety of all your self portraits.

yeah does look soft but the expression is very introspective and the space adds to the feeling of being alone. nice job.
