 This was shot using a 50mm 1.8 reversed onto a 100mm 2.8 macro lens. I laid a purple cloth nappy on my front patio table with the cloth curved up at the back. The thistles were still on their stems in the glass/vase. During shooting some dropped down and so I focused on those dropped segments to achieve this shot. The purple threads are the close up threads of the nappy.

The lighting was all natural. I use the patio a lot for my shots because of the diffused light coming through the laserlight roof. Even the sun is a glowing red ball through the roof.

I thought it was so because today I tried to "copy" your ideea. Not so succesfull unfortunately. I have some flower down but I obtained something shining...Maybe wrong kind of it, maybe not so good lighting conditions and for sure a beginner photographer!
