Tried to get a look of being despondent, waiting for the rain to stop, wish I'd got our lass to take her rings off though!

Thanks for all your comments, they are really helpful ;-)

Greeting from the Critique club...
Firstly nice photo, good tone and mood...

The comments on this photo have been pretty positive and useful. A number of people pointing out that showing more of the models face would have helped. The black hair has really dominated that part of the picture and does not help the overall shot.

The plant is also a little dominating and upsets the balance a little.

Overall an excellent effort, your photography is showing great improvement and the idea is solid. The conversion to Black and white is well done and I feel that you have achieved what you set out to do. Keep up the good work and take into account the feedback from the commenters...

Chris

Hi keith,

Well done on your 2nd highest scoring image so far :o) You've already had lots of positive feedback which is really great. I'd agree with your commenters, a little more of the face would really have helped this shot but other than that you have all the other elements right :o) Look forward to seeing your next entry :o)

Good perspective. I can barely tell that's a face though, moving the hair back a tiny bit would have helped a lot I think. Definitely transmits that droopy feeling one gets when trapped inside for too long, though - good job.

I'd want to see more of the face - to really push the emotion. Also, this is a bit of a cliche...someone staring out into the rain? What could take it's place?

Plant takes your eye away from the main subject

Love the concept, the elements are all there. For some reason my eye is first drawn to the sofa and i missed the rain on the window. The person being just hair is a little distracting. It seems that maybe if the foregroung objects were more out of focus, the window and rain would domniate more

I would give it a 10 BUT it is too dark on the right and the main subject on the left should occupy more space. 8

I'd love to see more of her face and expression.

I would like to see more of her face. It would help convey the mood you are trying to create.

A very nice idea. This shot would really work for me if the model's expression was more clearly visible - as it is, there is just a hint of her annoyance. I also find the vase outside a bit distracting, I think this would be better without it.

A very good idea and I like the B&W feel. The plant outside does however take a lot of attention away from the model

I'd like to see a bit more of her face...without it there's a certain lack of emotion which I think you might have been looking for...still, it's a nice shot.
