Thanks for the comments.

The road is going uphill so rotating it would make the hill background look off horizon. The brown shape in foreground is a rock, yes a bit distracting, but I thought there need soomething in the foreground. Without the car (lights) there is a loss of wetness that the snow gave. I have one without a vehicle and the car makes it look wetter, thus better for the challenge.

FYI, it snowed 12"+ there when I left for lower elevations. Van

If you crop just above the brown thing in the foreground it becomes a much stronger image

That looks like snow!
I wonder what it would look like if the sky was cropped out and then some curves and sat adjustments were done to darken it up a bit.

It works really well doesn't it. At last, an image with great rain and a context in which to put it. I love the colouration so typical of a day like that. In composition, you have the low left tree balanced by the high right tree with the wind of the raod giving it balance and flow. I'd be interested in your view of chopping the bottom quarter off the image so that you have the foreground grass just at the edge of the road in bottom-left frame. I bet that would have been worth a whole lot of extra points in the voting. You would have had an image much wider too as a result to help viewing

I love this. You can see the drops of rain all through the background as well. Nice capture. I would like to have seen it without the car though.

A little more contrast, and without the car... it could be nice.

A unique take on the challenge. I think it would be a better image without the car and if the "S" of the road we rotated to the right slightly

I think a little more cropping would have helped this photo.

I find the object in the foreground is a bit distracting in this photo.
