My lighting was two 1000W constant lights with white umbrellas...both at 45 degree to myself and the camera in between them.

I shoot in RAW...so I take the images in BW then convert the chosen images to colour and then mask out everything but the nails from the colour version...allowing the BW to show through beneath.

Very little is done to these images...mainly a slight contrast adjustment, crop, resize and USM.

Okay in reply to a Private Message I think I need to make something clear.

I am all natural. I have not had any cosmetic surgery. I do not go to Beauticians, Manicurists, Make Up Artists, Hairdressers, Masseurs, Gymnasiums or anything along that line. My hair gets coloured at home and I do my own nails...even painting the designs. I don't like shopping for clothes unless its for photos. I am ME!!

what an amazing concept! you have become an inspiration for me!
The fact that you show your self (naked in arti way..)in addition to the wedding ring, reflects lots of power. :)

you do not need to defend yourself for being you!! i'll bite my tongue because i could go on a rant... but you are beautiful, especially for a mother of three(!) and i admire that you celebrate that in your art.

I can't even imagine being creative enough to execute something like this, nor could I imagine having the skills to do it as well as this (obviously as the photographer, not the model) ;).
This is certainly one of the best I have seen you do Judi, be it in this 30-Day challenge or otherwise.

Truly a professional layout and presentation, and could see this in a very large print, hanging on walls in nail & beauty salons the world over.

Geesh, woman, how can you keep coming up with such amazing ideas? Then executing them so well? It's truly delightful to see what you come up with every day. Love Crystal's comment. :-) And you do the designs on your nails? Way talented... I can't even paint my own nails. Really nice work here - photography, pose, light, the whole nine yards.

Boy, here's a shot screaming to be made into a print. I also like, for those of us who know your hair color, how you completely flipped the usual striking red hair into a totally different color combination. Your main pose with your hair half over your face is just gorgeous!

Nice desat with the POP of the red. Great composition with the four images too. You're great at putting together something interesting and different.
