As I was coming home from an out-of-town meeting, I looked up and saw people falling out of the sky. I followed the parachutes and discovered a small airport and a sky-diving school. I got as close to the landing area as I could but my camera doesn't have telephoto capabitilies so it wasn't really close enough. The desaturation was done legally in Paint Shop Pro7.

I like this, but I'm curious what it would look like with all the colors - while it does draw the eye to your subject, in this case the removal of the other colors makes the image seem a bit - faded? Flat?

The desaturation doesn't work for me. Probably your subject isn't strong enough for the effect. In full colour this could have been quite good.

Nice composition. I like the B&W here - good choice. I like the colourisation, nice editing.

Chutist is a bit out of focus.

Interesting, but the subject is a bit miniscule. Highlighting the parachute was a very good idea, but I'd also like some detail of the person, too. Framing is O.K., but I get the sense the heading is towards the edge of the frame, instead of into the middle of it. 7 Rob the Swash

Interesting for sure and met the challenge spot on. The composition is good although he is flying out of your image instead of into it. I'm not too sure I like the color desaturation here much, I'd love to see the color version of it. All in all a good photo which is lacking that extra "wow".

Good use of desaturation to bring the subject out. I think I would prefer a vertical crop. This would give the parachute a sense and feeling of height. The landscape seems to be busy and keep your eyes on the bottom of the picture. Vertical would help.

The angle that the parchute is currently gives a sense of motion and flight, but changing the crop might give it even more impact.

Kool. Don't know how they have the nerve to jump from a plane. Looks like a nice ride. Good color but the sky and ground are a bit lost.

Selective desat seems a bit gratuitous here. The composition seems a bit off, I'd have prefered more ground. This was probably to vertically centre the paraglider, again I'd have prefered him on one of the thirds. 5

I like how the fella stands out because of the color against grey, but I think I would've personally liked it better if everything was in color, mostly because the subject is rather far away so its detail is lost.
