Gosh, I seem to be making a lot of statements, and I don't really intend to.. it just sort of happens!

The marker says "Three Unknown US Soldiers"

This isn't anti-war or anti-right now's war. The grave marker comes from the veteran's cemetery across the street which has a lot of people from older wars. I have always admired how people are willing to give up their lives for something greater than themselves. The photo doesn't depict how I feel, but rather tells the story of someone who has gotten the news that a loved one has died in war. I have been blessed enough to not know that experience.

Yes, the shot of me is the same as #1's.

I had shot that photo intending to make it be a representation of sadness that I was feeling at something going on in my life, but it came out blurry and really kind of crappy. I edited it into something that was decent, but I still wanted to use the photo for something less "digital art". I got the idea of layering it with a shot I had taken several months ago - the gravestone was the right size image for it, and fit the sadness theme. With the layering, I was able to get it looking not as horrible, I think.

Kelly, I think the stuff you are doing is delving into true art. Something that is a bit more valuable than the eye-candy that scores well on DPC.

I admire the things you have bben trying. And am enjoying watching you grow.
