Outstanding shot Don. I really love the contrast and the sharpness. The lighting on the building in the back is great.

BTW, my daughter loved that movie.

you know I have to tell you something about when I saw this in the challenge..I looked at it, and thought now here is one hell of a shot, by someone who is more interested in capturing a beautiful moment than in the score..you could just whip right by it..but if you stop and look, then it starts on you...and you realize that you are seeing real Zen..this shot has breath...
figures it was you...work on your scores...:)(do I have to put these smiley faces? I just don't want to offend..well in print anyway...:))

Dang, this is good. You totally nailed the challenge as far as that stuff goes, with the lines everywhere leading to your subject. But aside from that, this is simply a wonderful portrait. Love the tones - can't imagine it in anything other than B&W. Perfect light. This really does not suck.

The building detracts focus from this fine capture, perhaps some cropping would work well here.

Nice, emotional capture...works well in b&w. Not sure about composition that house at background feels little distracting...maybe could shot it in other direction.

Nice, really nive. Well capture, good work on the exposure and B/W rendition. Why so much space on the left? The white house in the background disturbs me... Out of that, a great shot.

Nice picture, but I don't think the lines lead to the focal point. My eyes automatically go to the face and then follow the arms to the flowers...maybe the arms are the leading lines?

I don't know if it is intentional in your composition, but even the gable ends of the roof lead to the subject. Very well done.

So artful. The flowers in her hand make for a nice lacey detail in an otherwise rather large and substantial use of objects. I like her profile and the fact that the ligh hits off of the top of her head and she has a glint in her eyes. Well done.9
