|I drove to Great Sand Dune N.P. on Friday morning, hoping to get a nice cliche shot for this challenge. Conditions were wonderful pre-dawn, yet as soon as the slightest bit of useable light appeared over the horizon it started to rain. And continued to rain for the next 3 hours. So, I didn't get many shots to use, either for this challenge or elsewhere.
On my way home I drove over Boreas Pass near Como, Colorado, and the trees were on fire. Aspen in Colorado generally change to a golden yellow, sometimes red or orange, but never to this tone. So, needless to say I got a bit creative here. The skies in Colorado generally are fairly dark, but I did darken these quite a bit as well. The clouds are real :)

Thank you all for the wonderful comments.
I'm quite surprised this did this well, since I applied a ton of PP, which I generally don't like doing.
That aside, I'm a wee bit disappointed that nobody mentioned that this is spot on perfect color contrast. Yes, I manipulated it to be so, but nevertheless...
