		| | Don,
It's OK! :) I laughed about it and I am sure Gary Larson would probably find it amusing. Thanks for the comment. It was very nice of you!

		| | ha! here I was criticizing your joke and it was direct from Gary Larson. Man, I sure I am a pain-in-the-ass! I'm very impressed with your claywork, though. A very good job. |

		| | Roxanne,
Thanks! I made the faces on the pencils with children's modeling clay. It was difficult to get the tiny faces to have the expressions I wanted, but I had great time and laughed alot.

Your setup was so much more involved and I have a great appreciation for your work.

This was by far the most fun challenge for me so far. I showed more of these photos around the office than any other.

We all need a belly laugh once in a while.

		| | Robin,
This is such a great recreation of a really funny cartoon. As you wondered whether or not I made my set from scratch (which I did), I was also curious as to whether or not you created your faces on the pencils. Very clever and well done. I revisited this image frequently and giggled each time. Nice work!

		| | Here's the original.
Last minute entry. Used modeling clay for faces. Blended colors so they matched the pencils. Used craft store googily-eyes.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions! This was fun to do and even more fun to see everyone elses entry!

		| | I love this shot. The detail in the faces on the pencils make the shot. It feels like a Gary Larson comic. Awsome job. I hope this one makes it to the top. |

		| | LOL. Simple, effective and clean composition. Caption captures the concept very well. Love the expressions and faces you created & put onto the pencils. That is what really makes the shot funny. Whether intentional or a lucky coincidence, I like how the rainbow swoop on the coffee mug 'seperates' the young pencils from the ol'timer pencil who lays outside the rainbow's boundry & slightly in shadow. |

		| | crop (why the alarm clock), angle (slight tilt of the mug to the left) and lighting (too flat) could be better, otherwise nice and effective -6 |
