I like the idea here, but I would have liked to see the tree itself more isolated from its surroundings. It's a little dark, although that may be the look you were going for. 5

This subject had potential but the image is dark and the tree merges with the background. Burning of the sky and lighter graves is evident...better to get the exposure right in camera whenever possible.

That is an interesting photo. The shadows impart a certain feeling appropriate for the scene - but they also exclude the viewer from penetrating the view.

Even though I think you are trying to be somber with this, it's a little too dark and flat. Bringing up the white level would have cleaned it up and given more separation of the tree from the BG.
