The lighting in this shot is just available light coming in through my bedroom window. I was lying in my bed under my duvet with the camera ready. Cat sitting at my feet. Then patting the duvet from underneath made her jump.

It took a lot of tries to get the timing and focus right. I don't think the cat minded. She likes playing.

Post processing:
Adjusted levels, curves, resize, neat image, unsharp mask and save for web. Basically doing all I could to brighten up the image. The original was too dark.

This is an amazing shot. I wish my cats were this cooperative. As soon as I pull out the camera, they pretend like they have never done an interesting thing in their lives. ;o)

Brilliant timing. I love the crop as it wouldnt be the same if the whole cat was visible. It accentuates the sense of action well. Very nice lighting and colors. Bumping up and adding to favs.

I don't think I've ever seen a cat with such unique patterns and colors...very cute...and a perfectly timed shot, as well

Focal point is too high up on camera so your eye is searching for "what? is in focus"

this is my red ribbon. it is the essence of photography. you rule the moment! you have mastered motion, licked the leap... transformed energy into matter. Life has become art. It might have been an accident that her ears were cropped off, but it is a stroke of genius. She is now a gorgeous curving rectangle intersecting the rectangles of bedframe?(molding?) and blanket... a tornado of rich color. simply perfection. and a favorite. 10

Her face is a bit too dark for my taste, but the pose is a great capture, and your focus is right on!

Great capture, crop is the weak point. Getting the whole cat would have been awesome. Still, a nice capture.

I reckon that this is a good attempt at a fairly difficult action to capture because of its speed.
