What a powerful image! The pattern of the squares is dynamic, the floor contrasting with yet complementing the wall/door. the little boos stands out strikingly because of it's angle. The off focus works perfectly to set a mood. It is very interesting how the weight of the picture, the heavy guy, the heavy mood, is all in the upper left quarter if the image. Yet the strength of the visual patterns in the other areas is enough to balance the whole. I rarely see so much weight placed at the top of a picture, usually the weight is at the bottom. I think that is what makes this looks so unusual and so effective. I really love it 10

A curious use of soft-focus. The feeling from this shot is that the creator wanted an 'art' feel to the shot, but other than that I'm not really sure what the intent was. Why is the man naked? How did he fall asleep on such an uncomfortable chair? Why is he on such an unstable chair? Is this important? Is it significant that he is blocking the door? What is the book? Is it really hot? The photo is a fantastic study in light and composition... I love the shapes here and how they all fit together, but ultimately this picture leaves me with more questions than answers. And I'm not sure if this is really what the photographer wanted. 8

Oooh this is nice. I like the softness very much in this image - it makes things almost luminescent and very dreamlike. Very surreal in feeling, very artistic and creative, I can see this in a gallery, I would buy this on a postcard to send to an arty bookworm friend of mine. (Don't mean on DPC Prints where I'd be paying through nose for postage but I mean if I saw it in a local store).
