 I found this field, and I was really pleased to see it. I came back that night with a flashlight and my setup and shot for a while - I was discouraged when I first looked at them because they looked really ordinary out of camera, but the next day I busted out Photoshop and 'Rikki-ized' the sky, and used the color painting technique I learned from the Landscape thread. Anyone who hasn't read it, really needs to:

I painted the foreground with a flashlight during the exposure, but it didn't have a huge effect since it wasn't a bright one. I'm really happy with how it turned out, hoping for a 6+ at least.

Editing:
Contrast masking, levels, curves for sky and ground, color balance for sky and ground, hue/sat, made overlay layer and dodge/burned and painted to enhance colors and contrast and darken some lights and poorly lit foliage in the background, NeatImage, gaussian blur in sky, sharpened a couple times.

Quite like this but the specks and borders are distracting. There seem to be some issues with certain detail in the tree silhouettes and some soft focus overall. 5.

The colors are bold and vibrant in these shot. The reds, oranges and golds are very warm hues and as such are more readily equated with the sun rather than the moon. It is the title that tells our eyes not to be deceived. It is the moon that illuminates this field of flowers. Given that, it influences me to think of warm October nights and the illumination of the flowers sets a tone & mood of us glimpsing an otherworldly realm - of magic, fairies, and spirits that walk the earth. The moon is full and it illuminates a magical world rarely seen. My only critique is that there are some drop-out/specks near the moon and some off to the right hand side of the sky. Those can be cloned out so as not to offer distraction.

Pretty cool image. I find the star trails distracting. While they can be cool in night sky shots here they just seem like mistakes. the colors are very nice as well.

Really gorgeous! I would have scored this a point higher, however, if the spots (stars?) had been cloned out, since for this image they're distracting and looking more like hot pixels.

Whether that really is the moon or not, you've really got some unique light there! The sepia tone is also a great idea, adding interest by running counter to the exptected blueish tone of moonlight. But those sparks of light (fireflies?) next to the moon and the far right are very distracting (and unnecessary in an advanced editing challenge).

Wonderful image. The warm colors combined with the soft horizon line and the delecate outlines of the flowers create a beautiful dream-like environment. I take it the little specks near the moon and to the right in the sky are stars? Took me a little while to realize as I found them distracting at first. I would suggest removing them, or perhaps adding a bunch more to add to the surealness of the image. Definately one of my favorites so far! 8

Really nice picture, but you should have removed the spots above the sun and on the right side. You are allowed to do that in "Advance editing"
