Just a note to this DQ. I did in fact submit the original photo, but seeing I had transfered from the card using ACDSee, the times got all wonked up. I learnt my lesson :) Sad lesson though, I love this image.

The image is not at all tarnished and is indeed incredibly lovely. The DQ is meaningless in the grand scheme of things. :-)

The DQ is a total bummer. I was shocked, as I read this. I never heard about the problem before, that some software changes the exif data by simply transfering a photo from camera to computer. Good to know that, but I would have preferred an other way to learn this. Nevertheless: the shot is a great work, the composition is ultimate perfection and I like the charming touch.

The softness of her skin and the very "in your face" color in the eyes just makes this shot so much more.... can't find the words. love it.

The hair falls as if a curtain is opened to reveal the room behind it. Also frames the face in a nice way.
Great colors and light, the eyelashes are a bit over the top for my taste, but the color stands out well from the pinks of the face and dress so that it demands attention (in a good way).

One of those times where we need two photos. As beautiful as this is, I want to see her eyes, yet that shot wouldn't be the same as this one and I would miss that great peacock-feather makeup. I wanna see more post challenge :)

Simply stunning! I love how the dark hair and angular collar frame the lovely model's face. The artistic makeup contrasts wonderfully against the slightly pale skin. The colour burst from the beautiful lips and eyes are the anchor to this wonderful shot. A definite fave for me and bumping up!

Peacock Feathers. Thats what jumped into my mind when I first saw this. Terrific detal in those lashes, but the face feels over processed and slightly plastic to me. Sorry 7

That's really extraordinary make-up. Reminds me of a peacock's feather. This would be worthy of a make-up poster (eh, maybe that's what you did the photo shoot for... ;>þ)

Very nice. I like the how the dark hair frames the face. Great color on the eyes. Nice idea to have her close her eyes. Everyone always seems to have their subjects with their eyes open. Hope you do well.

It is said that 'the eyes are the window to the soul' and that 'a woman's eyes are captivating' but I have never before seen a photo capture a woman's eyes that are closed AND STILL be captivating & compelling to look at! The composition and color bear a certain individuals style on DPC and indeed you may or may not be said individual;-) Anywho, back the the photo. The colors of violet-blue and green on those eyelashes are stunning and vibrant. She 'fans' those beautiful colors and the viewer is instantly attracted to her. She is exotic not just in her culteral beauty but in those colors of the eyes. Well done.

Wow.
Wow.
And wow one more time.
This shot is so beautiful and flawless its almost like one a porcalain doll, or one of those virtual synthesised exemplars of beauty. The eyelashes really set the shot off perfectly. Sublime shot

My personal feeling is that this is an example when a photograph has gone beyond being a photo and crossed over into digital art. I may be 100% off on this and it could be a basic edit, but in my opinion, has been edited far too much and no longer looks real.

I don't think this would work with her eyes open.
Maybe in an out take. hint hint. heheh ;) Very nice composition

Composition: 9 - Perfect, except I think perhaps a little less forhead so it doesn't cut off just as the hairlines meet would look slightly better.
Technical: 10 - Perfect, the glow, the sharpness on the eyelashes coupled with the softness elsewhere. Perfect skintones too.
Creativity: 8 - Different from most portraits, in that the focus is mainly on the eye lashes rather than the eyes themselves. I like it.
Appeal: 10 - Very appealing photo! Great work!

Overall Calculated Average Score: 9

a very lovely portrait. the set up (specifically make up and the oriental style of the jacket) certainly complements the stunning prettiness of your model. exclamations along the lines of "phwoar!", and i'll wager, "crikey!", are right now being muttered by a healthy percentage of voters. i must confess though, i am in two very distinct minds about whether or not I agree with the eyes being shut... i admit that the make up on the eyes is brilliantly done and the level of detail (on the lashes in particular) is amazingly sharp and the colours are extraordinarily bold and gorgeous. and the eyes being shut do give her a more coy and demure shyness which gives you some sense of her character (and somehow suits the more stereotypical geisha-ness you get from the clothing). but the biggish patches of green feel slightly too prominant a feature detracting attention, and i feel the bright lashes might have been less overwhelmed by the shadow if you could see her eyes open... just a thought really. still, this is an amazing portrait - 10.
