An image with no subject... When I saw this challenge I immediately thought about using selective desaturation. Since it's normally used to make a subject stand out I wanted to see if I could apply it in this challenge effectively without calling out something that could be seen as a subject. I think I succeeded. I didn't expect much in terms of a score since this isn't something that is popular to begin with but I think it shows that I was somewhat successful in this attempt. Hard to gauge though as I think a lot of people hate selective desaturation with a passion.

Thanks to everyone who commented!

I love the artful geometry of this image. The selective desat works well here because it neither draws attention to nor away from itself, but rather it works as an integral part of the whole. The pops of blue against the neutral tones are perfect-especially the little slice of clouded sky. You're quite good at creating visually stimulating architectural images. Nice job on this!

You got one of my 8's for this - a true mark of good selective desat is it doesn't call attention to the desat, and it didn't here. Besides, I really liked the graphic nature of the shot and the reflections.

commenting not voting. Being an old draftsman, I really enjoy looking at these geometrics. Yhis is good because of the b/w front and then the side color.
