| if the fongus is the subject why have so much other stuff around it, i only noticed that the fongus was the subject because of the pict title |

I *think* you want me to look at the white stuff? If that is the case then you've got to zoom in or crop right down to it. All the little bitty pieces of wood and the leaves in the upper left serve as visual noise and really caused my eye to search for what you were talking about in your title.
Also, you should know, DPC voters aren't a real patient bunch. They want pretty and they want it fast. I think fungus in the forest is cool, they won't. My free study is a similar photo growths that hold the desert floor together - they aren't impressed - the voters. So you and I need to go shoot shiny pretty things so they "get" it.

| the colour is nice and the focus is good but the shot really lacks a wow factor...sorry |
