 One of several SP's done for this challenge. I really wanted a thoughtful type atmosphere to suit the soft focus of the challenge. I specifically shot BW in camera and very low key with only 1 studio light with umbrella off to my left.

Critique Club Review:

What's not to like here. I don't get all the 1's and 2's for this piece. If a person is offended by nudity, simply abstain, don't vote, pass on by. That also goes for political views etc. Sorry - soap box mode off...

I love your use of negative space here. It adds to the mood and mystery of the picture. The model winds up floating in the negative space, very well done sir. Lighting, contrast, exposure are all spot on. This picture should have scored much higher.

One of the most artistic entries in the challenge.
Shame about the 1's & 2's - this was tastefully done with a high level of quality, certainly well-fitting to the challenge, and should have ranked much higher in my opinion.

One of my favorites (if not the favorite - but I haven't finished voting :)). Truly a soft focus photo (unlike most others in thie challenge), where the soft focus is essential.

How are we meant to know its you without the red hair? This is great use of soft focus as a technique to actually improve a photo

I like the model's pose a lot. That plus the necklase and cloth remind me of a celtic princess. Also like the stripes in the background - a nice detail, not distracting to me.

I am not fond of this type of photography (personal preference) but will try my best to make a constructive comment. I like the position of the 'model' in the frame, the softness of her skin and the 'material' she is holding works well against the dark B/G. The image has a nice 'soft focus' to it, the only thing that I am not keen on is the hand playing with her hair (MHO)

Speechless!

ETA: Awesome technically! The use of negative space and the black background gives the feeling of levitation. I love levitation and the idea of floating in zero gravity.
