 Another ruby-throated hummingbird taken at my Grandmother's house outside Buchanan, VA. We now have three feeders and fill them x2/day. There are times when all three are "full" with a rather vendictive waiting line to get their turn. These beautiful little creatures are so territorial and mean to each other! HA

Kelly asked me about the backdrop here and to be honest, it is the natural surroundings (yard, trees, woods, etc.). I shifted the hue and then added contrast with the tint brush and dodge/burn brush. There was already a nice bokeh because the trees/woods are a good distance from the house.

Killer backdrop for this shot. What was it? Hummingbirds are nothing short of amazing. Great stop action.

This is awesome. Something i always wanted to photograph. I got the chance in Pensylvania a few weeks ago but nothing like this.

I couldnt get them away from the feeder. This is a deffo fav for me!!!!

absolutely gorgeous!! oh how i do love hummingbirds!!! the gold is spectacular and the placement of the bird in the frame is perfect! :) this has inspired me to try and capture some hummingbird shots today after work.. theres some that hang around my yard. :)

Sweet. Like just suspended, totally void of movement. The colors have such snap!!!
