This is a refracted self portrait of my Nikon D70S who I have not named as yet....baby is the best I got....actually all of my cameras have been named baby as well. Go Figure.

I apologize in advand for resorting to this genre again but I like how it turned out and....it could have been another Net Shot....consider what that would have been like! Oy!

Shot an image of the Nikon with my Fuji S7000 (aka baby). Processed and displayed on my computer monitor and set the glass in front on a pile of books. The top most book had a piece of aluminum foil covering it with the dull side out. Shot the image with the D70S.

Post: Convert from Raw in PS Elements 3.0 with +0.33 exposure compensation. Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation. Sharpen. Flipped vertcal and then horizontal. Resize. Sharpen. Save for web.

Good composition, dramic colours, you could say it was a self portrait of a camera but would like to see a not so obvious shot of the photographer. Even something obscured would have made this more interesting. Good photography.

i voted this a six, and to be honest, it was one of the hardest to judge. i love the whole concept of this image; the way the camera takes a small percentage in terms of area of the total shot and the orange background is all very appealing. the bokeh (i learnt that here!) works very effectively complimenting the foreground beautifully. and the diagonal placement of the glass stem thing is creative and adds another sense of dynamism to the shot. unfortunately, all this good work and creativeness is lessened somewhat by the soft focus of the camera (albeit unavoidable due the the curves in the glass). maybe if the camera was even further away? it could also do with being set off against a nice simple black border. still, creative, appealing, and a very likeable entry.

Creative and well executed. I like how the glass warps the image of the camera. I like the comp and other technical details. Among my top picks.
